only in japan
I remeber hearing this about 2 years back in that the technology was being produced, seems like it has time for marketing now
"Visitors to fast food outlets in Japan will soon be able to pay for their burgers with their mobile phones".

for those that played street figther.
I loved Ryu like mad because he was the character that I could relate to the most (which makes me now wonder about the people who could relate to Vega, Jesus what's their story?). Ryu walked around the world, searching for the worthy opponents to fight. He was never satisfied, always searching for a new challenge or ways to bolster his technique. At the end of the game everyone's doing the celebration ceremony and he just walks off into the sunset, ready for more adventures. So in a nutshell if you were like "Hey Ryu why don't you sit a spell and enjoy this fine whiskey and Coke with me " he'd be all like "nah it's cool I'm gonna go to some sauna in Japan and fight this fat Kabuki dancer who's wearing nothing but a towel and more makeup than a drag queen" and then you'd be all like "oh hey that's cool" without even thinking about it because he's such a badass.
calls
"Skype has launched a new service that lets people call landlines from PCs without paying a per-minute charge, but users will have to buy a monthly subscription and pay a connection fee for each call they make.
Subscriptions to SkypePro will cost €10 (£6.70) for a five-month introductory period, and then will continue at €2 (£1.35) per month. The connection fee varies according to the currency in which it is paid, but in UK pounds is 3.3p per call and in euros is 4.5 cents per call"
my mda
Just purchased the MDA vario phone as a treat, it’s a pretty good phone so far.
WiFi is key for me so, this defiantly offers me the service, I have not used Windows mobile 5 yet but so far the reviews have been good.

“The T-Mobile Vario I tested ran a test build of the Operating System. Performance wise I was very impressed, even after installing old Smartphone 2002 apps or Smartphone 2003 applications that I shouldn't have done. Sure, there's a bit of "think" time when the screen switches orientation, but that is to be expected and it isn't bad by any stretch of the imagination. The screen is very bright, clear and surprisingly useful considering I've used larger Pocket PC's in the past.
It feels absolutely excellent in the hand and has been given a very camera-looking style to it. The grip supplied by the "dimples" on the back stop you worrying about it sliding out of your hand too. Design, style, elegance - these are words that were previously only mentioned around Motorola or Nokia handsets - however HTC have done a splendid job tailoring this handset. The addition of the keyboard, which is sooooo usable means that I don't need to get that stylus out much at all.
The MDA Vario has smashed through the preconceptions. This is a powerful Pocket PC in a regular phone form-factor. It's small but by gawd it's powerful. This is solid proof to all the women out there that size isn't everything! It's a bit thicker, but a lot smaller. More girth, less size!
I love the T-Mobile Vario. In fact, I even hassled T-Mobile to let me keep this a bit longer - not for the review - just because I like using it. The only problem I found was its speed. It's let down by a slightly-slower-than-average CPU.”

rant
It has been a crazy or shall I say a hectic few weeks, the lady has popped over to spend some time in the uk, however at the same time trying to sort one’s visa out, (which proved to be very difficult) which lead me on to thinking of cross world business cultures and the ease of transactions and interpretations.
Often I have thought that business should cut out the cultural aspect and focus at what is at hand, but time and time again I am proved wrong, perhaps its my interpretation of the situations I have perhaps been in, all in all I think understanding a business means understanding its culture, this could be dictated by the work force or even from country cultures.
Outsourcing is said to take many accounting and human resources positions not to mention IT, so it will be a big cultural shift for us brits to understand the ways of working and ways of learning. Is this good?
I had a few days of work to, which was spent pretty much chilling out, which I now regret, (should have updated my blog) but anyway I did go to a very nice fish restaurant for dinner by the marina.
In a bit of confused state at present being back at work, and with not much on at the moment, (I hate doing nothing). Been spending a lot of time thinking if I will actually end in Silicon Valley in the future, my stint there was amazing and I thoroughly enjoyed the etos and entrepreneurial spirit there and the drive that is. I have met a few people in the uk who share that passion but all in all with respect that passion can only be found in the valley.
Anyway that is my daily 10% thought and rant!!!!

oslo
just a quick mention, i just got back from norway on a work trip. Lovely place but not for the sun lovers.
It included a visit to the Palace which was a site to look at.
Also a trip past the University of Oslo which I must admit I don’t know much about.
I spent 1 hour in the history museum, and also looked at some architectural designs by Erin Saarinen one being aspects of Yale university. Some pics are uploaded, take a look.
tips if you do go, try and stay at the Radisson plaza, excellent service and a great hotel bar and restaurant on the 34th floor with great views, taxi stands directly outside and you are practically in the centre of the city.
